By Invitation: International Women’s Day Specials
The Economist
March 2022

The brief was to commission a series of portrait and create a digital-led campaign to promote The Economist’s By Invitation International Women’s Day Specials, with Nobel peace prize laureate Malala Yousafzai as its first guest editor. Malala invited four young women: Freshta Karim, Vanessa Nakate, Tigidankay “TK” Saccoh and Kiara Nirghin, to contribute essays on girls’ education. The portraits were beautifully illustrated by Agnès Ricart, and art directed by myself, completed in collaboration with Ben Shmulevitch.
